Production process

Production process


Pre-production: work being done on a product before full-scale production begins. Especially doing a film or a broadcast programme. E.g. Planning, scripting, storyboarding, etc.

Production: This is part of the process in which the footage is recorded.

Distribution: This is when the content is delivered to the audience.g. film prints, DVD's, etc.

Exhibition: Showing the final product to the audience in cinemas and on DVD's.

Exchange: The unintended use of the institutions media text such as film. People who use the film or parts of it to form new texts. E.g. Piracy.

Synergy: The way in which different elements of a media conglomerate work together to promote linked products across different media.
